Het plaatsen van een stent vergroot de kans dat uw slagader open blijft na een <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heartfailurematters.org\/nl\/wat-uw-arts-of-verpleegkundige-kan-doen\/percutane-coronaire-interventie-pci\/\">percutane coronaire interventie (PCI)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Wat houdt het precies in?<\/h2>\n<p>Er wordt een dunne, flexibele, holle buis (<a class=\"addtooltip\" title=\"Een dunne, flexibele slang die bij veel procedures wordt gebruikt.\"><strong>katheter<\/strong><\/a>) met aan het uiteinde een kleine opblaasbare ballon in een ader ingebracht, hetzij in uw lies of in uw arm, en onder r&ouml;ntgenbewaking naar het hart geleid. Zodra deze het vernauwde of geblokkeerde gedeelte bereikt, wordt de ballon opgeblazen om de slagader kort op te rekken en zodoende te openen en de bloeddoorstroom weer te herstellen. Vervolgens wordt de stent geplaatst. Nadat de ballon is leeggelaten en verwijderd, blijft de stent in de slagader achter. Alle pati&euml;nten krijgen na de procedure <a class=\"addtooltip\" title=\"Geneesmiddelen die de vorming of groei van bloedstolsels voorkomen.
