High blood pressure in your blood vessels is known as hypertension. When the pressure is too high, your heart has to pump harder than normal to keep the blood circulating.

Hypertension that is not controlled increases your risk of heart failure.

If your blood pressure is too high, you should discuss treatment with your doctor.
